In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Very Important Message

Pride Does Not Belong to Us — It Belongs to Allah Alone

This is a very important message for us as the Nation of Pakistan and as a single person also that Pride Does Not Belong to Us — It Belongs to Allah Alone

Main Message:

It is time for us to reflect deeply on our attitude, our speech, and our relationship with Allah Almighty. We often say, “We are a proud nation,” but let us remember that pride is not a virtue in Islam — it is a dangerous path that distances us from our Creator.

Taking pride in our strength, victories, or achievements is not only disliked by Allah but is warned against in the Holy Qur’an and the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. We must correct our mindset and language. Rather than declaring ourselves proud, we must say:

"Alhamdulillah" (All praise is due to Allah)

for any success we have achieved — especially in times of war or triumph. These victories are not due to our strength or wisdom, but by the help and mercy of Allah Alone.

Qur’anic Warning Against Pride:

Surah Luqman (31:18)

“And do not turn your face away from people in arrogance, nor walk in pride on the earth. Indeed, Allah does not like the arrogant and boastful.” — [Sahih International]

Surah Al-Qasas (28:76)

"Indeed, Qarun was from the people of Musa, but he tyrannized them. And We gave him treasures whose keys would burden a band of strong men..."

Qarun became arrogant and proud — and Allah caused the earth to swallow him and his home.

Hadiths on the Danger of Pride:

Sahih Muslim, Book 1, Hadith 164

"No one who has an atom’s weight of pride in his heart will enter Paradise." A man said: “But a person loves that his clothes should be nice and his shoes should be nice.” The Prophet ﷺ replied:
"Indeed, Allah is beautiful and loves beauty. Pride means rejecting the truth and looking down on people."

Sunan Abu Dawood (4878)

The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Whoever humbles himself for the sake of Allah, Allah will raise him in status."

Our Responsibility as a Nation:

it is time we make sincere Tawbah (repentance) to Allah for our sins of arrogance. Let us stop calling ourselves a “proud nation” and instead become:

A grateful nation — “Ummat-e-Shakirah” — who says “Alhamdulillah” in every success.

Victory in war, success in peace, or achievements in science — they are all from Allah. So let us say:

الحمد لله على كل حال

“Alhamdulillah in every condition.”

Our Commitment to Allah:

Let us make this commitment today:

* We will not associate pride with ourselves.
* We will say Alhamdulillah for every success.
* We will raise our children to be humble servants of Allah.
* We will teach the world that victory comes only with the help of Allah.

Insha Allah

وَمَا النَّصْرُ إِلَّا مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ ۚ

"And victory is not except from Allah." — [Surah Al-Anfal 8:10]

Final Note:

Let your heart be filled with gratitude, not pride. Let your tongue say “Alhamdulillah,” not “We are proud.” Let your actions reflect humility, not arrogance. For in humility, there is honor in the sight of Allah, and in arrogance, there is destruction.

May Allah keep our nation under His mercy and guide us to the path of sincerity, truth, and humility. Ameen.
